The Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP) is a renowned global organization of over 200 chapters and 25,000 members generating philanthropic support for a wide number of charitable causes. Setting the standard for fundraising ethics and best practices, AFP membership promotes integrity and inspires trust with donors and organizations served.

The Central Iowa Chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals serves over 100 local fundraising professionals who work for a wide variety of charitable organizations in Central Iowa, including Des Moines, Ames, and surrounding areas. Our local chapter works to advance philanthropy through advocacy, education, and certification programs, fostering the growth and development of fundraising professionals and promoting the highest ethical fundraising practices.

The group meets monthly September through June on the second Monday of the month. Each monthly meeting features a different educational topic and speaker.

Organization Memberships (Transferrable)

  • Small Nonprofit Organization

    $185 total ($125 global + $60 local chapter)

    Open to nonprofits that meet all of the following criteria:

    1. Operating budget under $2,000,000

    2. Fundraising department with fewer than two full-time staff

    3. Legally incorporated as a nonprofit entity

    4. Not affiliated with a larger institution supporting operations

    Open to nonprofits that want multiple team members to receive professional benefits. Memberships are transferable if the original member leaves the organization.
